Caught on Camera: Construction Worker Rescued From Broken Scaffolding

This video of firefighters rescuing a construction worker from the side of a building is enough to give even some industry vets sweaty palms.

If you’ve got a problem with heights, this may not be the video for you. A local news station out of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, recently shared the video above to their Facebook page, which shows a construction worker in Miami being rescued by firefighters after his scaffolding carriage broke mid-job. The rescue was a slow, meticulous process, with the firefighters doing a great job of securing the construction worker before bringing him back down to safety. The construction worker has not yet made any comments to the media, but we’re guessing that he was at least a little more thankful for firefighters and safety harnesses once he had both feet securely back on the ground.

“We had our technical rescue team go up to the roof, dropped down the line to secure the person, that way we can make an effective and safe transfer to the ladder, where he was safely brought down as well,” Miami Fire Marshal Chief Adrian Plasencia said to 7 News Miami.

No one was harmed in the incident. It remains unclear as to what caused the scaffolding to fail.
